Hally Labels supports local environmental charities
We are delighted to support four charities every year that are in close proximity to our four factories in Australia and New Zealand. These organisations do important work in our local communities to support, conserve and improve our environment.
In Brisbane we have supported the Queensland Trust for Nature who is a conservation-focused organisation which owns and actively manages several properties in Queensland. They focus on the protection and restoration of ecologically important areas and critical wildlife corridors. Our donation will specifically go towards revegetation and restoration work at their Koala Crossing property west of Brisbane. Danielle and Nigal were lucky enough to spy a koala, a dingo pup and baby-faced wallabies whilst presenting our donation.
In Sydney we donated to Cumberland Land Conservancy who own and manage four properties in Western Sydney. These reserves represent 49 hectares of biodiversity habitat that conserve key linkages for wildlife and support critically endangered wildlife and forest. Some of the many wildlife inhabiting their reserves include the Eastern Water Dragon, Sacred Kingfisher, White-faced Heron, Long-necked Turtle, Wallaroos and Wombats.
In Auckland we supported Trees That Count, a marketplace which matches funded and gifted trees with worthwhile planting groups around the country. These groups restore, and grow, precious wildlife corridors or pockets of native forest throughout New Zealand. Since 2016 they have coordinated the planting of over 31 million native trees. As these grow, these trees will help to remove about 3.4 million tonnes of carbon from our atmosphere.
In Christchurch we donated to Trees for Canterbury, a native plant nursery and community planting organisation who are nearing the halfway mark of their goal to plant 2 million trees in Canterbury. They also provide employment for disadvantaged people and environmental education to schools.
