We are thrilled to again be a proud sponsor of the annual Pork, Bacon and Ham Awards, held by industry body New Zealand Pork. The Awards have been running for over 10 years and give New Zealand butchers and meat producers an opportunity to showcase their very best to be judged by acclaimed food writers, meat experts and chefs.

Murray Davis, our National Sales Manager, attended the awards dinner held on Thursday 2 August at The Orange in Auckland. He thoroughly enjoyed the evening and said it was a great opportunity to recognise and reward excellence in the nation’s pork industry. Murray also said it was a great opportunity to eat lots of pork!!

The Awards are a highly competitive event, with a record 178 entries this year. We congratulate all those who came away with an award, or in many cases multiple awards. A special congratulations goes to the Supreme Award winners:

• Bacon: Sam’s Butchery for their Streaky Maple Bacon product
• Ham: Best Meats 2 for their Dufty Ham product
• Pork: Grey Lynn Butchers for their Guanciale (cured pork cheek) product
