The label design was created by Keisha Leon, Waanyi and Kalkadoon woman and founder of Leon Design. The feature image represents the phytochemical molecular components that comprise Taka Gin's flavours, and was illustrated by Gunditjmara Keerray Woorroong artist, and Niyoka's mother, Vicki Couzens.

Niyoka worked closely with Vanessa Seng from our Melbourne sales office to select a textured material for the label. She was drawn to the felt finish of our Clarence material. This self-adhesive paper stock is FSC® chain of custody certified, which means that the paper is sourced from responsibly managed forests. Clarence contains 30 per cent post-consumer waste which refers to recycled content derived from products that consumers have used and recycled. This sustainability claim was incorporated into Keisha's label design. The Clarence material is part of our ever-growing Hally environmental material portfolio.

Taka Gin was seeking a way to highlight Vicki's feature illustration. Vanessa presented our extensive range of embellishments,including hot foil, high build, emboss, cold foil, silk screen, lamination, and both flood and spot coating. Niyoka was drawn to high build for its raised tactile effect. This premium embellishment uses a silk screen process to lay down a smooth gloss coating that sits above the label surface.

The labels were manufactured at our Sydney site using our digital printing capabilities. Digital printing is ideal for short runs, such as the 5,000 bottles produced for this small batch infusion. This method of printing does not require any printing plates, therefore reducing the preparation costs and minimising setup waste.

Our HP Indigo digital presses are designed with the environment in mind, with each subsequent press model using less energy and supplies per printed page than its predecessor. We print using HP Indigo Inks which are certified for both home and industrial compostability.
