The Hally Labels team, fronted by Chris Watt, worked closely with the Allpress marketing and design team to create a custom labelling solution. The range of labels consisted of six individual designs, printed on Hally Labels’ Clarence material using our flexographic label printing technology.

Our flexo print capabilities were the perfect match for the embellishment requirements of the label which included premium hot foil to achieve the fine lines and high level of detail required for the design, and embossing to provide a tactile element to mimic the characteristics of the product. The team also incorporated customised brush stroke effects on the foil block to enhance the label’s textural feel.

Our Clarence self-adhesive paper stock contains 30% Post Consumer Waste (PCW) which refers to paper recycled after end consumer use, and is part of our environmental material portfolio. It is certified to the standards set by the Forest Stewardship Council^® (FSC^®) and is also delivered to customers via a certified chain of custody. Clarence is an excellent choice for eco-friendly applications, it is luxuriously thick and therefore better suited for labelling large diameter containers due to the rigid nature of its top sheet. Clarence was ideal for the Allpress Espresso label as the design was required to wrap over the top of the coffee bag and act as a seal.

As well as looking beautiful, the label also needed to be functional. Our Hally Labels technical and sales teams worked with Allpress to design a perforation that would tear cleanly when the coffee bag was opened, but would not otherwise break. The underside of the label included a non-glue area where additional information about the Allpress Espresso brand was printed including an infographic explaining their unique Air Roasting Method. The whole label was printed in one pass through one of our world-class Gallus flexo presses to maximise efficiencies.
